Kathmandu, June 21
The government has decided not to participate in the US State Partnership Program (SPP). The cabinet meeting on Monday decided not to participate in the SPP and decided to write a letter to the US government in this regard.
Though Nepal had offered to join the SPP, the controversy over the SPP had started on the eve of the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to the United States.
After the ruling and opposition lawmakers protested, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khan clarified that the government has no plans to join the SPP.
He expressed his commitment not to allow Nepali land to be used against the neighboring
countries.
