A leader who betrayed the nation should be jailed: MP Kirati

Kathmandu, June 17

Sudan Kirati, a member of the CPN-Maoist Center, has stated that any leader who commits
crimes should be imprisoned.

He said that the Nepal Army’s and the US Embassy’s claims in the SPP issue were conflicting and demanded that the facts be made public.

Kirati said during a debate on SPP at the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations on Friday, ”We must stick to Nepal’s foreign policy. Any leader who is found guilty of crimes must be imprisoned.”

He also explained why there was a difference between the Nepal Army’s statement and the US Embassy’s statement in the case of the SPP. During the debate, he proposed that the Prime Minister’s visit to the United States be postponed.

”What is the agenda of the prime minister’s travel to the United States is not a private visit, but a government visit?” As the election is ready to take place, MP Kirati has demanded that it be postponed.
