UML will obstruct the finance minister when he replies in Parliament

Kathmandu, June 16

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma have an agenda for today’s House of Representatives meeting, which begins at 1 p.m., to answer concerns about the budget. Prime Minister Deuba has set an agenda to answer questions raised by parliamentarians about the budget allocated for the Defense, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Office of the President and Vice President, and the Office of the National Planning Commission, according to the possible agenda made public by the Federal Parliament Secretariat.

Similarly, Janardhan Sharma has a plan to respond to the Ministry of Finance’s budget allocation for the coming fiscal year. However, the main opposition UML has been protesting against the finance minister, claiming that while preparing the budget, he fixed tax, revenue, and customs rates by entering unauthorized persons. While the finance minister is speaking in today’s House of Representatives meeting, UML MPs are preparing to block the parliament.

Subash Nemwang, the deputy leader of the UML parliamentary party, stated that they would vote against the finance minister in today’s meeting. ”We’ve made our point clear: we’re protesting,” Nemwang said.
