US President Biden is visiting the Middle East

Kathmandu, June 15

Next month, President Joe Biden will go to the Middle East. According to the president’s office, he will go to Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the West Bank from July 13 to 16.

President Biden will address Israel’s security, economy, and growing integration in the wider region with Israeli officials, according to a statement from the White House.

He said he will engage with Palestinian Authority officials on his visit to the West Bank and
underline the US’ strong support for a ”two-state solution” that includes a measure of security, freedom, and opportunity for the Palestinian people.

Following his visit to the West Bank, US President Barack Obama will fly to Jeddah, Saudi
Arabia, to accept Saudi King Salman’s invitation. He will attend a meeting of the Gulf
Cooperation Council, often known as the GCC Plus Three, which comprises Egypt, Iraq, and
Jordan. The GCC is currently chaired by Saudi Arabia. The event will also be attended by nine regional leaders.

The major goal of the visit to Israel, according to the president’s office, is to affirm the US commitment to Israel’s security and prosperity, while the Biden administration will attend the GCC summit to advance US security, economic, and diplomatic interests in the Middle East.

President Biden’s visit also aims to use diplomacy to promote peace and stability in the Middle East.

President Biden is scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett, President
Isaac Herzog, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Bethlehem while in Israel.
