Modi’s announcement to provide employment to one million people in one and half years

Kathmandu, June 14

Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India has announced the creation of one million jobs. ”Prime Minister Narendra Modi has examined human resources in all departments and ministries and directed the deployment of one million individuals under the mission in the next one and a half years,” according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

India’s unemployment rate increased in April, according to the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy. In March, the unemployment rate was 7.60 percent, and in April, it was 7.83 percent. The unemployment rate in urban areas increased to 9.22 percent in March, up from 8.28 percent in March. In April, unemployment in rural regions decreased. In March, it was 7.29 percent, down from 7.18 percent in April.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, told
Parliament that there were 8,72,243 vacancies in the Central Government Departments until March 1, 2020. In a written response to an inquiry, he stated that there were 9,10,153 vacant positions as of March 1, 2019, and 6,83,823 vacant positions as of March 1, 2018.
