All bridges leading to Severodonetsk, Ukraine collapsed

Kathmandu, June 14

Severodonetsk, a war-torn Ukrainian city, has lost all of its bridges. The city has been
completely blocked off, according to Governor Sergei Haidai, making it difficult to manage
supplies and safely remove citizens.

In the eastern Ukrainian city, a major battle is ongoing. Russia has removed its soldiers from military bases there, according to Russian officials.

The capture of Severodonetsk has been a high military priority for Russia for weeks. The
capture of Severodonetsk and Lysychansk, a neighboring city, would give Moscow complete
control of the Luhansk area.

Russian-backed rebels control much of the region. Hyde released the information of the
collapse of all three bridges in Severodonetsk in a telegram. People in the city, he claimed, were forced to live in extremely difficult circumstances.

The humanitarian impact of the fighting in the city, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, is alarming. Russian authority currently extends to around 70% of the city.
