The boxing team led by Sports Minister Gahatraj leaves for Russia

Kathmandu, June 13

Today, an eight-member team led by Youth and Sports Minister Maheshwar Jung Gahatraj and Nepal Boxing Association officials departed for Russia.

The Nepali team, led by Minister Gahatraj, has traveled for Russia on the invitation of the
Russian Federation’s Boxing Federation and the Russian Federation’s Sports Minister. Secretary of the Ministry Damodar Regmi, National Sports Council (NSC) Departmental Head Madhusudan Basnet, Private Secretary to the Sports Minister Roshan Kumar Sunar, President of the Boxing Association Ram Awale, Vice President Arjun Bahadur KC, Member Man Bahadur Bhandari, and Spokesperson and International Relations Coordinator Shyam Kaji Awale comprise the team.

Various issues will be covered during the visit to Russia in order to collaborate on the growth and promotion of sports in both nations.

Exchange of training between Nepali and Russian boxers, assistance in capacity building and development of boxing coaches organizing and participating in friendly boxing and other sports competitions between Nepal and Russia, and arranging scholarships for Nepali students at Russia’s Sports Science College will all be discussed.
