Kathmandu, June 13

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has promised to present the Citizenship Bill as soon as he responds to the matter raised in parliament, according to Democratic Socialists leaders.

Following his visit at the Prime Minister’s official house in Baluwatar on Monday, Prime Minister Deuba told LSP leaders that the Citizenship Bill will be introduced as soon as he responded to the budget question.

”We arrived at Baluwatar today.” ”The Prime Minister has promised to present the Citizenship Bill right after the budget,” said LSP leader Sharad Singh Bhandari.

LOSAPA Chairman Mahanta Thakur, Rajendra Mahato, and Sharad Singh Bhandari met with
Prime Minister and discussed the issue of the 11-point memorandum they delivered.

Understanding his request to fix the citizenship question as soon as possible, Bhandari stated that Prime Minister Deuba will introduce the citizenship measure as soon as possible.

They have also drawn the Prime Minister’s attention to the need to free their leader, Resham Chaudhary.

Leader Bhandari also brought the problem of the Tarai Madhes joint budget cut to the Prime Minister’s notice.
