Congress and UML agree to name province 1 after the budget

Kathmandu, June 13

After Province 1’s budget, the two major parties have agreed to decide on the province’s name.

Both parties have agreed to submit candidates during the current tenth and last budget
session.

Hikmat Karki, coordinator of the UML task group appointed to facilitate the nomination, and
Rajiv Koirala, head of the Congress parliamentary party, held a talk after the state assembly meeting on Sunday. They agreed to finalize the name from the ongoing convention throughout the debate.

According to UML leader Karki, it was decided to finalize the name during the current
convention. Karki, speaking during a special session of parliament today, asked the ruling party to collaborate, stating that the UML was determined to finalize the name.

Former minister Karki, former minister Jeevan Ghimire, Jagdish Kusiyat, Usha Kala Rai, and MP Arjun Rai are among the members of the UML task committee. To discuss the matter, the ruling coalition organized a task committee under the leadership of Health Minister Jayaram Yadav.
