Kathmandu, June 12
Nijgadh International Airport would be built by relocating around the proposed region,
according to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Deuba said that the government would make Nijgadh Airport by shifting to a location a little east of the proposed location, based on a memorandum from the Nijgadh Public Affairs Committee that arrived in Kathmandu demanding the construction of Nijgadh International Airport in Nijgadh, Bara.
The government has allocated funding for the airport’s development in the current fiscal year, according to Ek Bahadur Shrestha, coordinator of the related committee.
The government plans to create an airport that will include Nijgadh’s forest region. All
government decisions relating airport buildings, however, have been rejected by the Supreme Court. However, because the paradigm’s whole or partial wording has not been exposed, injustice continues to exist.
UML chairman and former prime minister KP Sharma Oli, CPN-Maoist center chairperson
Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ and Janata Samajwadi Party chairperson Upendra Yadav have all received memorandums from the committee.
Former Prime Ministers Oli and Prachanda claimed to have highlighted the importance of
constructing an airport.
Another team led by Drinking Water Minister Umakanta Chaudhary attracted Prime Minister
Deuba’s attention on Saturday, expressing dissatisfaction with the Supreme Court’s ruling.
At the PM’s house in Baluwatar, a team led by Minister Chaudhary presented Deuba with a memorandum encouraging him to proceed with the development of Nijgadh Airport. Prime Minister Deuba stated during the meeting that the government has set aside funds for the development of the Nijgadh airport in the coming fiscal year.
