Kathmandu, June 8
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale has vowed to recover all the land and other properties of the Pashupatinath Temple that have been encroached upon.
Initiating the reconstruction of the Bishwarupa Temple and shed on the precincts of the
Pashupatinath on Tuesday, he said the structures constructed by encroaching upon the land
belonging to the Pashupatinath Temple would be demolished and the occupied land would be reclaimed. The Bishwarupa Temple and shed were damaged by the 2015 earthquake.
Minister Ale said that the Bishwarupa Temple constructed during the reign of Junga Bahadur Rana was damaged by the Gorkha Earthquake of 2015 and this temple would be reconstructed at the earliest.
The historic temple and shed are being reconstructed at an investment of Rs 450 million. It is to be reconstructed within the next two years.
