Kathmandu, June 2
Laxman Lal Karna, a Democratic Socialist MP, has stated that the village should be relocated from the Chure region.
He said that settlements should be removed from the area and trees should be planted for the Chure’s conservation during a meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, where he was participating in the general discussion on the annual revenue and expenditure estimates for the fiscal year 2079/80.
”Plant trees to protect chure,” Karna said, adding that Madhes villages will be saved if chure is protected. In Chure, take away the villages. The Madhesi homeland will be saved if Chure is protected.”
He objected not consulting the state administration when preparing the budget, claiming that if Chure is not protected, Madhes will become a desert in ten years. In response to a question on chure conservation, Karna underlined the need of taking the matter seriously.
