Former Finance Minister Poudel expresses concern over the budget

Kathmandu, May 31

Former Finance Minister and CPN-UML lawmaker Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that the
government’s budget for the coming fiscal year has created a financial burden that the country cannot bear.

Speaking in the discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2022/23 in the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, Poudel said that the current government has created a lot of financial obligations for the country by presenting its full-time budget.

According to Poudel, the budget is not focused on leading the economy of the country in the right direction. He also claimed that long-term plans and programs have been implemented without enough preparation and that the budget was intended to mislead voters and collect votes.

Poudel accused the ruling coalition of misusing state resources to its advantage. He said that the new budget has attacked the essence of the budget.
