Kathmandu, May 30
The Parliament’s International Relations Committee has instructed that the building of Nijgadh International Airport be accelerated by removing legislative barriers.
The Supreme Court has ruled that Nijgadh Airport should not be built. The committee meeting on Sunday, on the other hand, instructed the government to remove legal obstacles to the airport’s development.
“To direct the Government of Nepal to accelerate the building of Nijgadh International Airport, which is critical for national security, economic growth, and national interest,” the committee said in a statement.
The committee considers that the decision to cease the construction of Nijgadh International Airport, which has been the subject of intense research and a significant investment, does not appear to be reasonable from any perspective.
