Nepali Army begins to search for missing aircraft

Kathmandu, May 29

The search for the Tara Air plane that went missing this morning while flying from Pokhara to Jomsom is underway, according to the Nepal Army (NA).

NA ground troops and a helicopter with rescue teams are trying to locate the plane (Tara Air), according to Nepal Army Spokesperson Brig Gen Narayan Silwal. “The possible incident site is believed to be in and around Lete, Mustang. Poor visibility due to bad weather is hindering the efforts,” he added.

The plane has taken off at 9:55 a.m. from Pokhara Airport and was scheduled to land in
Jomsom at 10:13 a.m.
