Kathmandu, May 26
On Saturday, Rato Machhindranath’s Bhoto will be shown at Jawalakhel, Lalitpur. Kirti Kiran Joshi said the procession to demonstrate the bhoto of Rato Matchhindranath began on June 4 after visiting the site in Mangaltol’s Manimandap Pati in Patan.
On Wednesday, he claims, there will be a spot to take a chariot from Iti Toll in Lagankhel to
Jawalakhel. Bhoto follows Jawalakhel for four days. Every year, the Joshi’s pay a visit to this location. Bhoto will be shown in the presence of President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, and others on Saturday, June 1.
Machhindranath is carried in a bed to the Bungmati temple after demonstrating Bhoto. He is maintained for six months in the Bungmati temple and then transferred to the
Machhindravahal temple in Patan for another five months. A chariot is pushed from Patan to Bungmati every 12 years. Machhindranath’s 12-year trip, which began in 2072 BC and ended in 2084 BC, is today celebrated.
