Congress wins in Katari municipality

Kathmandu, May 25

Nepali Congress candidate Rajesh Chandra Shrestha has been elected as mayor of Katari
municipality of Udayapur.

Shrestha got 6,417 votes while his nearest rival independent candidate Krishna Prasad Baral got 5,952. UML candidate Gyanendra Shrestha received 5,715 votes.

Similarly, UML candidate Gita Khadka has been elected as deputy mayor with 6,413. Her
nearest rival Binod Katuwal of the Maoist Center received 3,821 votes.
