Kathmandu, May 22
Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Hemkarna Poudel has been elected the mayor of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City.
He won with 33,049 votes while his rival Yam Kumar Chongbang Subba of the CPN (UML) got 28,031 votes.
Similarly, UML candidate Sangita Kumari Chaudhary has been elected as deputy mayor with
32,436 votes. Her closest rival CPN (Unified Socialist) candidate Keshav Bista got 18,031 votes.
