Kathmandu, May 20
Congress has won the post of mayor and UML has won the post of deputy mayor in Panauti
Municipality of Kavre.
Congress candidate Ram Sharan Bhandari won the mayoral post with 14,050 votes. His nearest rival UML candidate Bhim Neupane got 11,783 votes.
There was an alliance between the Congress, the Maoist, and the Unified Socialists.
UML candidate Geeta Banjara has won the deputy mayor with 12,337 votes. Chhavilal
Humagain of the nearest rival Unified Socialist Party got 10,388 votes.
