Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has extended greetings on the occasion of 2566th Buddha Purnima today.

Issuing a message of best wishes on 2566th Buddha Jayanti today, PM Deuba wished world
peace, co-existence, tolerance, brotherhood, and fraternity in the world.

The PM said, ”I wish happiness, peace, and progress to all Nepalis and Buddhist communities at home and abroad on the birthday of Lord Buddha, the apostle of peace, non-violence, and compassion.”

The full moon day of Nepali month Baisakh coincides with the day when Lord Buddha was born, attained enlightenment, and mahaparinirvan (passing away) took place, Deuba said in the message, adding that this day has been inspiring to move towards peace, non-violence, compassion, goodwill, and self-realization since ancient time.

“Gautam Buddha is a luminary. His teachings and sermons are still relevant, useful, and

He saw that the four Arya Satya (noble truth) and Arya Astangik Marg (The Eightfold Path) were still useful and worthy of emulating even at present. Deuba, in the message, said we should be able to follow the teachings and messages of Lord Buddha in our practical life and make life peaceful and happy.
