The G7 countries are concerned about Hong Kong’s selection of a new leader

The G7 foreign ministers expressed concerns over Hong Kong’s new leader’s election on Monday, accusing the Chinese territory of disobeying democratic norms.

The EU has welcomed Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the
United States to register their ‘strong interest in the selection process.’
