Bitcoin’s value continued to fall over the weekend, going below $34,000, according to the Coin base Cryptocurrency Exchange. The market value of the world’s largest cryptocurrency has dropped by 50% from its high in November of last year. As stock markets throughout the world have fallen, digital asset prices have fallen as well.
Bitcoin accounts for almost a third of the cryptocurrency industry, with a total worth of $636 billion. Last week, Ethereum, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency, fell more than 10%.
