We will carry out our promise to provide an old-age allowance in 65 years: Dr. Mahat, spokesperson

Kathmandu, May 9

Dr. Prakash Saran Mahat, a spokesperson for the Nepali Congress, stated that Congress has committed to providing old-age allowance to those over the age of 65.

Dr. Mahat, the Congress’s spokesperson, stated during a news conference on Monday that the party has committed to providing an old-age allowance for 65 years.

Those above the age of 70 are eligible for an old-age allowance. We are now committed to
securing a 65-year-old allowance. Because the average age has now risen to 71. That, too, is an outstanding effort. Nepalis were on average 54 years old when they joined the Congress government. ”Those who have food are surviving for 80/85 years, which is beyond normal,” Dr. Mahat stated. Poor people live in remote areas and have an average age of only 71 years. They do not live to be 70. In that case, the group must be refused old-age benefits. As a result of focusing on them, we have decided to grant a 65-year-old allowance, which we will implement once our government takes office.

He said that the Congress government made the decision to grant a Rs 5,000 payment to
pregnant mothers. The Nepali Congress (NC) has promised to issue 10,000 credit cards to small farmers with a 2% interest rate. This, he said, would be a huge relief for disadvantaged small farmers.
