Liquor sales have been banned in Kathmandu since midnight on May 10th

Liquor sales and distribution have been prohibited in Kathmandu from May 10 to 13 in the
evening, with the aim of maintaining local election security.

On Sunday, the Kathmandu District Administration Office published a notification advising
people not to sell or distribute alcohol until 12 noon on Tuesday. The date for the local
elections has been set for May 13th.

According to the administration office, all vehicles operating on election day and other vehicles with permission are banned from operating from 6 a.m. until the polls close.
