UML Chairman pledges to establish Biratnagar as a glorious city

Kathmandu, May 8

KP Sharma Oli, the Chairman of the CPN-UML, has pledged to make Biratnagar a glorious city by developing its environment and industries.

Reminding that the postal road was constructed and the campaign to provide education to
deprived people in Madhesh was launched during his three-year rule as Prime Minister, the
former PM claimed that he inaugurated the Sunkoshi Marin Diversion Project that would
irrigate 185,000 bighas of lands in the next two years.

Oli expressed hope that the UML candidates would win a majority of votes in the May 13 local elections while addressing an election rally in Biratnagar on Saturday.

The UML mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates Sagar Thapa and Shilpa Nirala Karki also
expressed commitment to developing Biratnagar and boosting its economy.
