The contribution of Bagmati province to GDP has decreased, but what about the other states?

Kathmandu, May 5

Bagmati State’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has decreased in the current fiscal year 2078-79. Bagmati is expected to contribute just 36.9% of state GDP this year, according to the National Statistics Department’s state-level GDP contribution data issued on Thursday. Bagmati contributed only 37.7% of GDP the previous year. The reduction in Bagmati, on the other hand, is owing to the fact that other states’ contributions to the national output have grown this year.

However, the state has again been the leading contributor to the national output this year.
According to the department’s data, Province No. 1 is in the second position with a contribution of 15.7 percent, followed by Lumbini Province in third place with 14.1 percent and Madhes Province in fourth place with 13.2 percent.

Gandaki is in fifth place, with 8.9% of the total household contribution, while the Far Western Province is in sixth place with 7.0 percent and Karnali is in seventh place with 4.1 percent.
