The hearing of the writ petition filed by Additional Inspector General (AIG) Bishwaraj Pokharel against the government’s move to appoint Dhiraj Prakash Singh to the IGP of Nepal Police post is scheduled for Wednesday.
AIG Bishwaraj Pokharel had challenged the government’s decision in the Supreme Court,
alleging that the junior had been promoted.
He had last Monday filed the writ petition through his representative demanding that the
promotion made by breaching the seniority be scrapped.
Pokharel had been promoted to AIG 16 months earlier than Singh.
On Sunday, the government decided to appoint Singh as IGP. On Monday, he has conferred an insignia.
