Krishna Kumar Shrestha, Minister for Labor, Employment, and Social Security, has stated his determination to make the labor sector more systematic and respectable by efficiently
enforcing the employees’ fundamental rights established in the constitution.
On the 133rd International Workers’ Day, he expressed his best wishes, saying that the government has been committed to creating a safe working environment, fair wages, a social security system, working-class participation in policymaking, and the elimination of all forms of discrimination, and flourishing employment.
He said that recent work has begun in the fields of foreign employment management,
promotion of internal employment, improvement in service delivery, organization management and expansion, and social security, stating that efforts have been made for legal, policy, and procedural reforms for the effective implementation of workers’ fundamental rights.
He also stated that new labor agreements and labor agreement renewals with destination
countries have been prioritized in order to protect the rights, dignity, and security of individuals working in foreign nations. Minister Shrestha stated his hope that International Workers’ Day will motivate everyone to promote a culture of respect for work, protect workers’ rights, and create a dignified working environment.
