For the current fiscal year, the Central Statistics Office predicts an economic growth rate of 5.84 percent. The figures were released at a news conference held by the agency on Thursday.
There are only three months remaining till the fiscal year comes to a close. This is predicated on the fact that there will be no big impact in the remaining three months, and the impact of Covid-19 will be minimal, according to the department.
According to the agency, the primary sector, which includes agriculture and mining, would
develop at a rate of 2.3 percent, industry at 10.3 percent, and the service sector at 5.9 percent.
