Equipment is being connected to Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project

Kathmandu, April 28

The installation of equipment in the powerhouse of the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project in
North Rasuwa is moving very quickly.

The equipment connection work has begun once the majority of the project’s structures have been completed. Technicians have been assigned to complete the hydropower project of national pride at all hours of the day and night.

Voith India is assisting with the connecting of critical equipment, including three turbines, to the Rasuwagadhi project’s powerhouse, which is being built as an underground structure. Since January of last year, the business has started connecting the equipment. Satya Ram Jyakhwa, the chief of the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project, estimated that the
equipment connection would take another year.

Construction of a concrete bridge between the powerhouse and Tatopani in Bhotekoshi has
begun to prevent erosion. Residents in the project’s impacted regions have also undertaken community-based work mandated by the EIA.
