Kathmandu, April 19
In the upcoming local elections, the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has withdrawn its candidacy for mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City.
In the discussion with leaders of Gandaki Province, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on
Tuesday maintained that the post of mayor in Pokhara metropolis will be given to the CPN
(Unified Socialist).
During the meeting, PM Deuba was briefed on the status of the party and ruling alliance in
Gandaki Province.
Currently, a meeting of the ruling alliance is underway to discuss an electoral alliance between the coalition members for Metropolitan and Sub-Metropolitan Cities in Baluwatar.
