Rice being carried from Sarkegad hamlet in Humla’s central region has come to a halt at Simikot Airport. Due to a shortage of transportation from the airport to the warehouse, large quantities of food have been stuck at the airport.

The route from the airport to the company’s warehouse has been closed, according to the Humla division of Food Management and Trade Limited. Previously, the food was delivered to Simikot by helicopter.

Tractors were used to transport food from the airport to the warehouse in the past. The food could not be carried because the road in the women’s dormitory section of Simikot’s lower market was being fixed, according to the Humla branch. Until the road is constructed, food will be stored at the airport. At Simikot Airport, 529 quintals of food have been stopped. The road is expected to take another week to complete.
