Minister for Urban Development Ram Kumari Jhakri has argued that Nepal’s economy is not in shambles as rumored in the market.
On Saturday, Minister Jhakri said it is not unusual to have a trivial pressure on the economy at a program in the capital city. “The country’s economy is not in crisis as rumored in the market.
The situation is not panicking,” she stated.
The impacts of price hikes in crude oil in Gulf countries and the Russia-Ukraine war can be seen in Nepal’s economy, but Minister Jhakri claims the situation is not serious.
Minister Jhakri also cautioned stakeholders not to create rumors to create an artificial shortage of goods in the market.
Stressing the use of electric appliances for import replacement, she called for promoting
domestic industries to boost the economy.
On the occasion, Jhakri said the government has initiated actions after a probe into those
engaged in the leakage of sensitive and confidential information.
