Ruling coalition to issue joint statement on election alliance

The ruling five-party alliance is set to issue a joint statement on the electoral alliance among the five ruling partners.

Baluwatar decided to issue a joint statement in favor of an electoral alliance at a meeting of the coalition held at the Prime Minister’s official residence, to create a nationwide atmosphere for the local level elections on May 18.

According to a source in Baluwatar, the meeting also discussed the upcoming local elections as well as other contemporary political issues.

Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel has also presented a progress report on the electoral
alliance during today’s meeting.

For the preparation, mobilization, and monitoring of the upcoming local elections, the ruling
coalition has formed a committee led by Poudel. Today’s meeting is also expected to chalk out a strategy for the upcoming elections.

Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajwadi Party, and
Rashtriya Janamorcha Nepal are in the ruling alliance.

The local level election is being held on May 13.
