President Gotabaya Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka has nominated four ministries. They’ve also taken an oath. All 21 government ministers resigned on Sunday night.

The president has named four ministers and has urged all political parties to join the
administration in order to address the country’s economic difficulties.

President Gotabaya, on the other hand, has not appointed his brother Basil to the government.

His brother Basil had previously served as finance minister. Basil, Prime Minister Mahinda
Rajapaksa, and President Gotabaya are all brothers. Ali Sabri has taken over as Finance Minister in place of Basil.

President Gotabaya urged all political parties to work together to resolve the country’s economic difficulties and to join the government.

Demonstrations are taking place at the grassroots level, calling for the Rajapakse brothers to quit, claiming that they have not worked to resolve the country’s economic situation.

After the protests became violent, Sri Lanka imposed a state of emergency. In the major city, a curfew has been imposed. It is prohibited to use social media. After breaking the curfew, protesters took to the streets.
