Kathmandu, March 31

In protest of the Nepal Oil Corporation’s reduction of commission, gas industries have ceased selling and delivering gas to sellers as of today.

The Nepal Petroleum Dealers National Association, the Federation of Nepal Petroleum
Transport Entrepreneurs, and the Nepal LP Gas Industry Association have all protested the
reduction in commission. According to the National Petroleum Business Institutional
Coordinating Committee’s agitation program, LP gas industrialists have stopped selling and distributing to sellers as of today.

They have warned to stop sales of gas and petroleum products across the country on April
3 unless the fee is reduced.

The corporation has ceased paying commissions to fuel sellers on a percentage basis. They have been protesting since December 3, asking that the commission be accepted and that the report of the research committee led by the Director-General of the Department of Quality and Measurement be adopted.

From March 20, all LP gas businesses stopped purchasing PDO from Nepal Oil Corporation,
according to the pre-announced movement’s program. Similarly, as of March 28, the LP gas businesses had stopped customs clearance at all crossings.
