Due to a lack of drugs and other necessary health supplies in Sri Lanka, which is in the midst of an economic crisis, even scheduled events have been postponed.

Due to a scarcity of medicines, surgery at Sri Lanka’s Paradenia Teaching Hospital has been stopped. ”We have maintained the medications and supplies we have to save the lives of the patients coming to the emergency services and have stopped other pre-scheduled procedures,” said HM Arjuna Tillakaratne, the hospital’s director.

He stated that the body in charge of health care had already been notified.
After hearing that surgery in Sri Lanka had been suspended due to a lack of medicine, India is preparing to assist. S Jaishankar, India’s foreign minister, has requested the Indian High Commissioner to review the situation and determine what India can do to assist.

As its foreign exchange reserves decrease, Sri Lanka is facing a serious economic crisis. And it has affected 25 million individuals directly.

Exams for 4.5 million Sri Lankan students have previously been delayed owing to a lack of
funds.
