The foundation stone was laid for a school building that would give education to students for only 100 rupees

In Mahalaxmi Municipality-4 in Lalitpur, a new 20-room school facility for Samata Shiksha
Niketan School is being built.

The school building, which will cost Rs 7 million to build, would be finished within the next year.

Comedian Kiran KC has promised to contribute Rs. 15,000,500 to the project, with cultural
activities donating another 2 million.

The school building will be built after Biraj Bikram Silwal agreed to provide four ropanis of land for a 20-year lease. The school was once located in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-17.

Deepak Sanjel, director of Samata Shiksha Niketan Guthi, stated that the school would have to be relocated to another ward after the 15-year land deal was signed.

Rameshwar Shrestha, Mayor of Mahalakshmi, Jiba Lamichhane, past president of the Non-
Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), Haribansh Acharya, renowned artist, and Tirthaman
Shakya, former chief secretary to the government of Nepal, all placed the foundation stone for the new school building.

For the last 21 years, Samata Shiksha Niketan Guthi has been teaching English medium to
students with a monthly charge of 100 in all of the country’s districts. Samata Shiksha Niketan schools are now operating in 80 locations throughout 77 districts. At the moment, Samata school has 40,321 students enrolled. In Syangja and Gorkha, Samata has its own private building. Samata has been operating the school in other districts by constructing raw tents on property donated by sponsors.

In the SAARC nations, Samata Guthi has developed schools in Bihar, India, Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Burma. Around 16,000 instructors work in Samata’s schools in Nepal. In 100, Samata has also opened a hospital at Jorpati. Uttam Sanjel founded Samata Shiksha Niketan Guthi, and Shrestha and Acharya serve as patrons.
