Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma has stated that the cause for Nepal’s failure to attract foreign investment as promised should be investigated.

Sharma made the statement while speaking at a program arranged by the Board of Investment and the Federation to create a foreign investment desk in the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

”The government should work hard to figure out why the investment pledges haven’t been met,” Sharma added.

He stated that the administration has placed a high priority on recruiting all types of domestic and external investment and that we should be able to clearly describe the return to those who come to invest.

The Board of Investment and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry have also established an agreement to encourage internal and foreign investment in Nepal via mutual collaboration.

FNCCI President Shekhar Golchha and Board Chief Executive Officer Sushil Bhatta signed the MoU.

According to the agreement, the Federation of Nepali Chambers of Commerce and Industry’s secretariat would establish a foreign direct investment assistance unit. The Board will offer technical support with the help desk’s functioning, as well as capacity building, skill development, and information sharing.
