Kathmandu, March 24
Light rain coupled with thundershower is predicted in some hilly areas following a partly and general weather in the high hilly and mountainous areas, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
This weather condition has followed the impact of the westerly low-pressure system. As a
result, a few hilly areas of Province 1, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces are likely to
witness light rain coupled with a thundershower. In view of this and the increasing hot
temperature with the onset of summer, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has
urged people to be alert.
Pre-monsoon (March, April, and May) is marked by the continuous impact on the weather in the afternoon and evening in hilly regions. Pre-monsoon is characterized by sunny days and brief thunderstorms during afternoons and evenings, according to the Division.
The Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts) today recorded a
minimum of 15.5 degrees Celsius temperature and maximum of 29.8 degrees Celsius.
Similarly, Jumla recorded the lowest minimum of 4.5 degrees and Janakpur the highest
maximum of 35.4 degrees.
