In Ilam, police recovered 2,000 kilograms (40 bags) of churpi that had been smuggled in. On the Mechi Highway at Rong Gaonpalika-4 Jorkala, almost 19 lakh churpi was found.
On Tuesday, a crew from the Kiteni Police Post discovered the waste in a vehicle traveling from Jhapa to Ilam.
According to police, the jeep driver Nima Tamang of Ilam’s Suryodaya Municipality-2 has been handed over to the Revenue Investigation Office in Itahari, Sunsari, for further action.
