Meeting of the Council of Ministers: Free testing for kidney, liver, and heart disease, and a Senior Citizens Hospital to be established

Kathmandu, March 11

The government has agreed to offer free kidney, liver, and heart disease testing to individuals over the age of 50. A cabinet meeting was conducted on Thursday to make the decision. Once a year, a test like this will be conducted.

A senior citizens’ hospital will also be built, according to the cabinet meeting. According to Birodh Khatiwada, Minister of Health and Population, the ministry has already begun work on the hospital’s development through a task force.

The cabinet meeting also determined that on the recommendation of Health Minister
Khatiwada, who declared his body donation after his death, other government ministers will
execute the same choice.

On the occasion of Health Service Day 2078 BS, Minister Khatiwada declared that he will donate organs. Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi, who was accompanying the Minister, also said that he will donate organs.
