Kathmandu, March 9

Madhav Kumar Nepal, chairman of the ruling coalition member CPN (Unified Socialist), has issued strict instructions to party leaders not to oppose the US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact.

During the party’s central committee meeting on Wednesday at Karki Banquet in Baber Mahal, Chairman Nepal instructed the central committee members not to raise their voices against MCC.

“The party has already made its decision on MCC. Please delete the status written against MCC,” he said, adding, “Everyone should accept the party’s decision. With the interpretative declarations on the compact, the ambiguity about MCC has been removed.”
