Kathmandu, March 3
The Nepal Congress’s district convention in Chitwan began today.
Minister of Bagmati Province Milan Babu Shrestha, from party president Sher Bahadur Deuba’s faction, and Dr Suryakant Ghimire, Uttam Joshi, Bijay Bhusal, and Rajeshwar Khanal, from Shekhar Koirala’s faction, are contesting for the post of district president of the party.
Similarly, Kailash Koirala has been claiming his candidature as a common candidate. Nepali
Congress leader Arjun Narasingha KC has been working since Wednesday to forge an
agreement between them.
