A total of 1,139 instructors have resigned in the last seven months. According to the National Library (Teachers) Office, 1,139 of the 3,050 teachers who got retirement letters between July and mid-February of this fiscal year resigned.

During this time, 1,697 employees were forced to retire, while 214 teachers passed away.

According to Khakurel, ”the lucrative incentive allowance granted by the local level to the aged and those who wish to leave was the main cause for the increase in the number of teachers quitting compared to the previous year. He claims that the town has offered appealing offers to retired or soon-to-retire teachers. It has offered a range of service facilities ranging from one lakh to five lakhs. That is the right thing to do, and it should be the end of it.”

Due to the matching of roles, some who do not want to work at another local level or district have also resigned. Every day, 25 to 30 teachers in Mangsir and Poush quit. Despite the fact that it is impossible to say why the teachers resigned, Director General Khakurel stated that these are the reasons.

Although the number of instructors who have resigned since January has been minimal, the
office claims that they are still arriving on a daily basis. The surge in the number of teachers quitting in November and December, according to Director General Ram Raj Khakurel, is due to the Election Commission’s orders and the Supreme Court’s decision to comply with the Political Parties Act and the Education Act.

During the previous fiscal year, 3,361 persons got pensions, according to the National Library (Teachers) Office. 797 teachers had resigned, 2,356 teachers were on mandatory retirement, and 3,060 teachers had received pensions, including 207 teachers.

From July until mid-February, 1,697 of the 2700 retirees in the current fiscal year have already received their mandatory retirement letters.

The Teachers Service Commission is prepared to hold exams for the 17,047 vacant positions as well as the number of teachers who will be forced to retire by next April.
