244 Nepalis in Ukraine secured to safe places

244 Nepalis have reached safe places as a result of the recent crisis caused by the Russia-
Ukraine conflict.

According to the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), the High-Level Rescue and Relief
Committee established to help Nepalis affected by the Russia-Ukraine conflict has been crucial in helping Nepalis in reaching safe destinations.

The rescue committee said in a statement on Monday that 60 Nepalis affected by the conflict have left Ukraine for Poland, 12 for Slovakia, 12 for Romania, four for Hungary, and two for Moldova.

In the meantime, on the way to the safe destination, 130 Nepalis were stopped at the Poland border, 12 at the Slovakian border, 10 at the Romanian border, and two at the Moldovan border.

According to the NRNA Ukraine, 40 families have made their residence in Ukraine permanently.

On Sunday, a meeting chaired by Nepal’s Ambassador to Germany, Ram Kaji Khadka, decided to take the necessary steps to ensure the safe relocation of Nepalis displaced by the conflict.

Ambassador Khadka informed the meeting that the embassy had issued travel permits to 34 Nepalis who had been displaced from Ukraine.
