Descriptive notes on MCC are meaningless: CPN-UML

Kathmandu, February 28

The descriptive notes on the MCC agreement between the government of Nepal and the United States, according to the CPN-UML, would be meaningless.

The House of Representatives (HoR) ratified the US aid grant agreement on Sunday evening.

Following the HoR meeting, UML leader Khagaraj Adhikari said that the descriptive notes were just tools prepared by the ruling coalition to protect its position.

Minister of Finance Janardan Sharma had tabled the MCC compact proposal with descriptive
notes for endorsement.

The UML, on the other hand, continued to demonstrate, stating that its demand for action
against its 14 expelled lawmakers was not met.
