Ukraine has declared martial law, claiming that five Russian planes were shot down.

Five Russian planes and helicopters are said to have been shot down by Ukraine.
Near the rebel-held area, the Ukrainian military claims to have shot down five Russian jets and a helicopter.

”Five assault planes and a helicopter were shot down today in the region of the joint military operation, according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff,” the Ukrainian Army’s General Staff said.

Meanwhile, after Russia initiated military action against Ukraine, Ukrainian President
Volodymyr Zelensky imposed martial law on Thursday.

Missiles were fired at military facilities and airfields in the city, according to the Ministry of
Home Affairs. The airspace of the country has been shut down.

According to media sources, the bomber struck shortly afternoon in front of Kyiv’s Boryspil
International Airport and other parts of the city.
