Bhairahawa will start providing international flights from April 14: Minister Ale

Kathmandu, February 20

Prem Bahadur Ale, the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation has announced that
foreign flights will begin from April 14 at Gautam Buddha International Airport.

Minister Ale, who arrived in Bhairahawa to visit the airport, stated that starting international flights from the airport will make life easier for the locals.

According to Minister Ale, ”From Gautam Buddha International Airport, we plan to conduct direct international flights. It will be easy for the inhabitants here if international planes begin.” He stated that an endeavor has been taken with India to obtain authorization for a direct route and that the situation would be resolved shortly because the Minister of Civil Aviation had requested permission to fly directly to India during his recent visit to India.

Minister Ale expressed optimism that if international flights were to begin from here, the
problem of air traffic in Kathmandu would be solved, as this airport is the country’s second-largest international airport.

Minister Ale stated that Lumbini is also the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, the emissary of peace near Bhairahawa, and that if international flights begin from here, the country might see thousands of Buddhists and millions of tourists.
