Top leaders of the ruling coalition have agreed not to table MCC in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives. The decision was taken at a meeting of top leaders of the coalition at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Friday.

After the discussion in Baluwatar, CPN-Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal informed that it was agreed to hold another meeting on February 20.He told reporters, “It has been suggested that the next meeting be held on February 20. The Prime Minister said that the MCC table should be held today but we requested to wait till August 8. He agreed to that.”
Earlier, a separate meeting of the three parties was held. The Maoist Centre, the Unified Socialist and the JSP have been saying that the MCC cannot be accepted in the status quo. The five-party alliance has been divided over the MCC.
